Dr Hannah Dobson

Dr Hannah Dobson is an adult and perinatal psychiatrist. She holds a public consultant appointment at the Women's Mental Health Service at the Royal Women's Hospital.
Dr Dobson provides assessment and management for a range of adult psychiatric illnesses. She has a special interest in women’s mental health, in particular perinatal psychiatry. She assists her patients to explore, understand and manage their mental health in the preconception period, pregnancy and after birth. This includes management of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, advice regarding medication use prior to conception, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, anxiety related to childbirth and adjustment to parenting.
​In addition to her clinical work, Dr Dobson engages in research with Monash University and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, keeping her at the forefront of new knowledge. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, and a Bachelor of Medical Science from Monash University, and a Masters of Psychiatry from the University of Melbourne. She completed her specialist training through the Alfred Hospital and Royal Women’s Hospital. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
